Sorry for not updating recently. Quake 3 Jailbreak has been promoted from alpha status to beta status . The 38-MB version is up! Here is what the authors of the awesome MOD have to say:
| "Jailbreak is a Teamplay MOD for Quake 3 Arena. A game of jailbreak consists of two teams, Blue and Red. When killed, you are transported to the enemies jail. While in jail, fellow teammates can free you by hitting the release trigger, or you can work together and use an escape hole located inside of the jail to gain your freedom. Once a team has all opponents in jail they are Executed, this being your ultimate goal." |

Apparently, Gamespy, the popular multiplayer server finder, has considered creating a so-called "Gaming" university where you can learn the techniques of gaming and even earn a degree! Imagine yourself getting payed hourly wages just for playing games the entire day. Imagine your parents praising you for the wonderful frag you made in Quake III Arena on that other dude trying to earn that degree. If you are one of those people who just want to play all day, read the article.

EuroLAN's 75 player Quake III Arena Tournament ended last weekend at Brighton, UK. This event housed some of the best Quakers in the UK including Razer-CPL qualifier Blokey, and Billox, Kalliath, and Requiem. You can read the commentaries and match summaries at EuroLAN.

Console gamers and PC gamers alike should be shocked at this. Sega.com, a new ISP specifically for Dreamcast users (or PC users) will announce tomorrow that they will give a free Dreamcast system with keyboard if you sign up to their 2 year Internet plan. Sounds great? I haven't actually seen any gimmicks involved but you can go to Dreamcast.IGN to see the full article. Also, if you already own a Dreamcast, Sega will send you a $200 check, making your purchased Dreamcast seem free.

News from Q3Arena reports that in a recent John Cash .plan file, a bug has prevented MOD creaters from creating new holdable items.
There is a bug that may be giving Q3A mod developers some headaches if
they are trying to add new holdable items.
File cg_event.c, function CG_UseItem; the line: itemNum = es->event -
EV_USE_ITEM0; should be: itemNum = (es->event & ~EV_EVENT_BITS) -
EV_USE_ITEM0;
This causes itemNum to be invalid about half the time, preventing any client
side effect tied to the item from occurring.

Sega of America has announced that a console version of QUAKE III ARENA will be shipped later this year. Apparently, this project is under the supervision of id software, and the real construction of this game will be headed by Activision and Raster Productions of Sega Dreamcast.
This internet-ready 128-bit QUAKE III ARENA version will allow PC gamers and console gamers to play in real time. This will be the first time in which PC users and console gamers can play head to head via internet.

got quake? is going slow right now, since the webmaster is busy studying for various tests at school. In the meantime, Microsoft has entered the console arena strong with its new 128-bit gaming system "X-Box." Games are still in development, but the specs are indeed spectacular.

Soldier of Fortune will probably become one of the more sought after games out
there. The graphics are great, and the use of Raven's new GHOULD rendering makes this game extremely realistic. If you think that the screenshot is great, check out the SOF video at your nearby Best Buy if you are near one.
Soldier of Fortune boasts detachable body parts, probably making it the goriest first person shooter out there. There are about 26 damage zones, a shot to the head happens to end the guy. You are equipped with lots of cool weapons ranging from the silencer to the awesome sniper (sniper shots posted soon). SOF hopes to be shipped soon.
So why did I post sof? To give you something that is as good as quake.

Got Quake? is a newly formed quake site by founder Tommy Zhu aka zhupride. The site will have a plethora amount of tips and strategies for newbies and pros wishing for new tricks to add to their deadly barrage. I have included all quake games (see left menu). The respective games include strategies, weapons, single player, downloads, and other goodies found on most premium sites around the net. Feel free to access any part of this site.
